If alternative fasteners are substituted after fabrication and testing to BSI, PAS24 or other industry standard, new sample windows & doors must be comprehensively re-tested by UK Accreditation Bodies to avoid making your company’s CE Marking and other product certifications void.
Rapierstar StarPVCU screws conform to the requirements of BS EN 7412 PVCU window standard, as recommended by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) best practice guide and British Plastics Federation (BPF) fastener guidelines. StarPVCU screws are further corrosion tested “In-House” in accordance with BS EN ISO 9227:2017 and corrosion resistance exceeds grade 4 and 5 according to BS EN 1670:2007. Every batch of our carbon steel screws is routinely corrosion tested to beyond 300 hours, far exceeding the requirements of BS EN 1670:2007. Rapierstar branded screws also have full declaration of performance to European harmonisd standards and carry CE marking.

A documented best practice for testing and assessment of external doorsets and windows intended to offer a level of security suitable for dwellings and other buildings exposed to comparable risk from the casual or opportunist burglar.
